Q&A: Game Producer, Anastasiia Mysan speaks to AskGamblers
AskGamblers sat down with Anastasiia Mysan the Game Producer for our latest release, Bamboo Ways! Anastasiia covers the incredible features, striking design and creative process behind our hit new launch.
What inspired you to create Bamboo Ways? Please, tell us a bit more about how you came up with the idea and what the process is like.
Our players are always the main inspiration for us! While working on Razor Ways, we identified several ways to improve the concept, which was also supported by the community after the game was released. Once we started working on evolving this initial concept, it became rather natural to have it under another big IP - Big Bamboo.
Can you walk us through some of the core gameplay mechanics or features that players can expect?
First and foremost, players can expect a lot of action while playing both the Base Game and Free Spins. Bamboo Ways includes the Expanding Rows Feature - where wins unlock new rows up to a 6x6 grid. We’ve packed the game full of Special Symbols, Expanding Wilds, Converters into Wild and Expanders; so there’s always something ready to activate and totally shake up the gameplay.
Plus we’ve got the iconic Golden Bamboo Feature, which fans of our previous Bamboo games will feel familiar with, offering Instant Prizes, Collectors, Multipliers and Converters that land during the feature. All the features can blend and mix, creating unexpected twists and wins!
During the Free Spins Feature, players collect Scatter Symbols to level up - each new level removes one of the Low Symbols from the grid, grants additional free spins, and unlocks an additional row. This is all on top of the features from the Base Game, which are also present here, which sends the win potential skyrocketing!
Push Gaming always launches slots with striking visuals. What’s your secret?
Firstly, thanks for that! We pride ourselves on our attention to every facet of a game. At Push, there’s just as much care about the artwork and soundtracks for a game as there is for the mathematics and game design. It’s a team effort, but there really is an artistry in everything each team brings to the final product.
It’s hard work and a massive team effort to achieve the results players get to enjoy. It takes a rather long time to polish each element of the game, particularly the visuals, but I feel like it's all worth it seeing the final product!
As for the secret, there is none! We have high standards and clear art direction for every game we create. If it wasn't for our talented team members, we couldn't continue to achieve that. Bamboo Ways is a perfect example of the ethos I’m talking about, all of us working in tandem to produce a game that looks, sounds and plays beautifully. Ultimately, it’s all about that final experience, we want players to be blown away by every aspect of a game!
What’s your favourite symbol in Bamboo Ways?
My favourite symbol is actually the one we've introduced in this game - the Expander Symbol. It can only be revealed from the Mystery Symbols, and once you see it, it will expand the Mystery Symbols in a random direction until the end of the unlocked row/reel. It feels great to land Expanders, especially when the Mysteries cover the whole row and reveal the Panda Symbol!
How have you balanced risk and reward in the game to appeal to both casual and high-stakes players?
In Bamboo Ways, there is a nice balance between the Base game with smaller but frequent wins, and the Free Spins, which is much more volatile and appropriate for the high-stakes player. It’s a really nicely balanced experience overall, and we’ve added Push Bet and Bonus Buy options for players who want to immediately amp up the experience.
With Bamboo Ways planned to go live soon, can you tell our players a bit more about Push Gaming’s plans for the rest of the year?
The roadmap is looking great, with a big focus on a range of seasonal games for Halloween and Christmas, so look out for those! There’s also some big new launches close on the horizon. I can’t say too much about that, but let’s just say 2026 is going to be our biggest year yet…
We’ve a bunch of unique titles coming up where we are trying new themes and mechanics, which is always fun for us. It will be a pretty packed schedule for our team, but we’re excited to deliver all these fun new concepts to players and can’t wait to hear what they think!
