Q&A: Game Producer, Ihor Lozinskiy speaks to Slot Gods
Push Gaming's Game Producer Ihor Lozinskiy sat down with Slot Gods to talk about their new top rated slot, Razor Returns and Push Gaming's latest release, Rat King.
You have just launched Razor Returns, before looking ahead to other titles on your roadmap, how was the launch of the much-anticipated sequel and what do players who have yet to try the game have to look forward to?
Razor Returns had a fantastic launch, quickly receiving both critical and commercial successes in the short time since its release. In numerous reviews we have seen near-perfect scores and players have adored returning to the depths of the ocean and playing a sequel to a genre-defining classic.
Players that are yet to take a bite of the mystery and multiplier-based gameplay on offer in Razor Returns should expect to enjoy potential wins up to 100,000x and two different bonuses!
These include a more traditional free spins round that will allow players to gamble the bonus to be awarded a free spins round, with a 100x multiplier in play, this will boost the slots big win potential. Additionally, the razor reveal feature will see converter symbols transform other symbols on the grid into golden sharks, each able to award up to 5,000x.
These elements combined with the mystery stacks feature returning, a popular theme and the iconic symbols and gameplay from the original receiving an upgrade, have created an instant hit.
You’ve got even more new releases lined up over the coming weeks that cover a range of different themes, mechanics and features. Can you explain a little bit about the selection process for new ideas over at Push Gaming?
Our titles are created using a collaborative approach which allows us to draw from the talents of the different teams we have at Push Gaming. For instance, some titles may be developed with a specific theme in mind that one of our amazing artists thought of. Alternatively one of our developers may have a new innovative feature that works as the foundation for a new title. This collaborative approach means that our teams' imaginations and many years in the industry allow them to build from these initial concepts and quickly create a framework for what our next slot may look like and how it will work.
Your next title is Rat King, can you tell us more about this release?
Rat King pays tribute through its aesthetics to retro arcade games of the past with its design, soundtrack and animations being heavily inspired by gaming from the 1990s, which we are huge fans of.
The slot is played across 6x6 reels that feature numerous food-based symbols with at least 7 or more of these needed anywhere on the game grid to award a win. These winning symbols are then removed from play with new icons falling onto the game board and potentially granting another winning combination!
A reel to the bottom of the gameboard will collect multipliers if they fall to the bottom of the reel, its multiplier is then applied to all wins generated, increasing the excitement for players. This is also how players gain entry to the free spins round with at least three scatters needed to be collected to award 10 free spins with more scatters awarding up to 20 spins.
Here, any multipliers gathered are held throughout all subsequent spins and any additional scatters collected will grant an extra three spins for players. This culmination of features creates an exciting buildable bonus that can quickly snowball to achieve huge wins.
The Push Bet feature returns in Rat King and was also a staple part of Razor Returns, is this a feature you are looking to integrate into more of your titles?
We understand that our global player base has vastly different preferences and styles of play. Push Bet allows players to take control over how they choose to interact with the game in a more unique way. They can play a more standardised version of the title or increase their bet via the Push Bet option for an increased chance of landing the bonus. This risk and reward factor and allowing players different options is something we are keen to build on in future releases.
After Rat King you will be releasing Goat Getter. What should players be expecting from this release?
Goat Getter offers a fun and immersive cartoon aesthetic for players to engage with. The title like Rat King will offer pay-anywhere mechanics along with a coin drop feature that both work together to produce high-intensity action. In the bonus, a goat symbol will act as a collector and increase players' position on a pay ladder to be awarded a retrigger and a buildable multiplier.
Finally, are there any current plans to lure Razor back out again in the near future? Could there be a slot series on the way?
Never say never, we are immensely proud of our work with Razor Returns and players have thoroughly enjoyed diving back into the title. Our portfolio does contain other franchise titles or features such as the incredibly popular Fat series of games and the numerous Jammin’ Jars titles so it's certainly possible that we may take a bite out of this title again in the future.
